2018 Lincoln / Reagan Day Dinner
Our annual Skagit County Republican Party Lincoln / Reagan Day Dinner will be on Saturday, March 24th. The event begins at 5 PM (doors open at 4:30 PM) and will be at the Bertelsen Winery Event Centre, located at 20598 Starbird Road in south Mount Vernon (from I-5 exit 218 go 1/3 mile east). Bertelsen's provides a spectacular setting with sweeping views of Puget Sound and the San Juan Islands.
Our keynote speaker is nationally recognized author and lecturer Herb Meyer.
Mr. Meyer, served during the Regan Administration as special assistant to the Director of Central Intelligence and as Vice Chairman of the CIA's National Intelligence Council. In these positions, he managed production of the U.S. National Intelligence Estimates and other Top Secret Projections for the President and his National Security Advisors.
Herb is widely credited with being the first senior U.S. Government official to forecast the collapse of the Soviet Union--a forecast for which he later was awarded the U.S. National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal which is the intelligence community's highest honor.
Formerly an associate editor of Fortune Magazine, he has authored several books including The War Against Progress, Why is the World So Dangerous, Real-World Intelligence, How to Analyze Information and Hard Thinking. Mr. Meyer's essays on intelligence and politics have been published in the Wall Street Journal, National Review Online, Policy Review and The American Thinker.
Also we will have talks from our state legislators and other elected officials, live music, a delicious catered dinner provided by Max Dales Steak and Chop House, dessert dash, auctions and more. Do not miss it !
This event is $60 per person, $110 per couple and $440 for a table of 8.
