Keynote Speaker: Chinese Culture Historian Wen Chen
The 2026 Skagit County Republican Party's Annual Lincoln / Reagan Day Gala is Saturday, May 16 - Keynote Speaker: Chinese Culture Historian Wen Chen.
Wen was born in China at the end of the Great Cultural Revolution. Wen and her family were victims of the horrific atrocity that killed two million intellectuals and destroyed traditional Chinese culture. Despite setbacks, Wen eventually won a national science prize at age 16.
In 1994, Wen came to the U.S. for graduate school and earned a doctorate in biology from the California Institute of Technology in 2000. Since 2012, she has given hundreds of presentations to community organizations about Chinese culture, history, and human rights. More see: wenchenview.blogspot.com
