At the Roanoke Conference Legislative District 7 State House Representative Jacquelin Maycumber won this years Slade Gorton "Rising Star" Award. Jacquelin was given a standing ovation by the 450+ in attendance. The Republican event was celebrating its 10th anniversary and also had over a dozen GOP state elected officials in attendance. Maycumber was also elected the new GOP Floor Leader a few weeks ago.
