Democratic Congressman Keith Ellison, who is the second highest ranking DNC member (Deputy Chair), wrote a post on social media endorsing a book that promotes the far-left Antifa extremist group, promising that it would "strike fear in the heart" of President Trump.

Both the FBI and the Department of Homeland security consider Antifa a domestic terrorist organization, which is why it came as a shock to many when the high ranking Democrat official choose to boost the extremist organization.

Following President Trump's election, Antifa has committed countless acts of violent extremism.  Nationwide Antifa rallies have fomented brutal attacks against innocents and the destruction of large swaths of public and private property.

Conservative Review has found that the book Ellison plugs explicitly endorses physical violence against political opponents.  Author Mark Bray's Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook" is full of passages that call for violence and justifies "the need for unprovoked occasional violence."  Another quote says:

"Fascist violence often necessitates self defense - although anti-fascists challenge conventional interpretations of self-defense grounded in individualistic personal ethics by legitimating offensive tactics in order to forestall the potential need for literal self-defense down the line."

The book also rejects the concept of the first amendment, arguing, with fascist-like ideals, that people and groups who are deemed unsavory do not deserve free speech.  The author is a controversial figure.  Bray has argued that "unprovoked physical violence is a legitimate response to certain political groups."

Ellison's endorsement of Antifa might not come as a surprise to those who have followed him over the years.  Ellison has long had close ties to Islamic supremacist groups and violent revolutionary movements.
