Clarifying Gateway Pundit by Bill Bruch

Clarifying Gateway Pundit by Bill Bruch

Today, June 25, the Gateway Pundit (GP) published an article titled - Bondi DOJ Claims it Cannot Enforce Voter Fraud Crimes because it lacks Powers, Doesn’t Have a ‘Data Guy’

I believe it is important to go on the record to say the GP misquoted me. Here are my exact comments I stated and emailed to the GP on June 20, 2025.

"It's concerning to hear that the Department of Justice apparently doesn't have an election integrity 'data guy' - especially when we have several excellent data professionals and IT specialists focused on election integrity that I have worked with for many years. I would be happy to refer them to the DOJ if asked. Many great people with solid resumes and credentials are doing this work as volunteers."

"It's gotten so bad in Washington State, left-wing legislators in Olympia are even trying to criminalize things like voter roll challenges and citizen initiative petition signature gatherers by making it a felony if they deem that you did anything wrong. Many election integrity advocates are volunteers simply trying to help our auditors clean up the voting rolls. Our left-wing legislators have no problem inventing new laws or reinterpreting existing laws to try to outlaw election integrity. Instead of helping with the cause and improving things, they're trying to imprison us. So it's very disappointing and troubling to hear that some in DOJ leadership won't stand up to fight for election integrity and voter fraud."

A big thank you to the GP for being such a long-term staunch supporter of Election Integrity; however, I do not appreciate being misquoted and having words that I did not say put in quotations.

That being said, to clarify my concerns, I have been consistent for the last four and a half years as Chair of the Washington State Republican Party Election Integrity Committee. Yes, Washington State elections are a mess, and there is much work to do to clean them up. And yes, many good people are working hard to fix them. These are incredibly challenging and important times to make things right. How do we exist as a civil society when elections are compromised, and many do not trust our elections?
