Linda is presently a member of the Anacortes Planning Commission. She served as a planning commissioner in Monroe, as superintendent of schools in Thorp and on Lopez Island, and is a former statewide Small School Superintendent of the Year. The City Council unanimously endorsed Mayor Laurie Gere’s appointment in 2020 of Linda Martin to the Planning Commission for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2024. “She knows how to work with the community and have important conversations,” Gere told the council. “We are thrilled with her willingness to step up.” In her application, Martin wrote that she is interested in serving the community of Anacortes where she resides with her husband.“It is important to me that we maintain the excellent quality of living that we enjoy in Anacortes,” she wrote. “I have recently retired, and have time to give to this worthy endeavor.”

Passionate about education, Ed teaches multiple university-level business, economics, and law courses at Saint Martin's University in Lacey in addition to his full-time job as Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel for Principal Warranty Corporation in Burlington, Washington.
Ed is a lifelong learner with a Master's in Education from Western Governors University and a Doctorate in Education from Marshall University. He believes active collaboration between parents, students, educators, administrators, and the community is the best approach to developing and educating the next generation.
Ed also earned a Juris Doctor from Northwestern California University and an LL.M. with Merit in Economic Regulation from the University of London. Ed also holds a Master's in Business Administration from Syracuse University Martin Whitman School of Management, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance & Business Economics from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master's Certificate in Six Sigma from Villanova University.
An attorney licensed to practice in the States of California and Washington and the Federal Courts in the Southern District of California, the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Supreme Court. Ed is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington State and Florida, a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1998, a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute, and an Enrolled Agent admitted practicing before the Internal Revenue Service.
