We here at the SCRP are shocked and outraged at the senseless murder of Conservative activist and commentator Charlie Kirk. Charlie was killed with a gunshot by a sniper from a rooftop at the Utah Valley University campus, where he was speaking, on September 10, 2025.
Charlie was speaking at a debate hosted by his political youth organization, Arizona-based Turning Point USA, at the Sorensen Center courtyard on campus. Immediately before the shooting, he was taking questions from an audience member about the Second Amendment.
“Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?” the person asked. Kirk responded, “Too many,” according to video footage of the event, captured right before the shooting occurred.
The person then questioned Kirk about mass shootings in the United States before Kirk replied, “Counting or not counting gang violence?” before the shot rang out in front of thousands of onlookers.
The assassin who killed Charlie thought he was going to shut us up. Instead, he woke us up. Charlie’s “crime” was simple: Championing civil discourse. They couldn’t stand it!
As believers we all know that Charlie Kirk is in a much better place. However, this heinous evil violence will not be tolerated!
We pray and encourage others to pray for comfort for his family (especially his widow and small children) and his many fans.
Charlie was a brilliant man, a true genius, and one of the most articulate Conservatives of our time. A dedicated Christian and a humble servant of God. He was very special and will be missed immensely - But the movement he started is just getting going and will now only grow exponentially!
