As expected President Trump announced Judge Amy Coney Barrett of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals as his nominee for Associate Justice on the Supreme Court. In doing so, the President fulfilled one of his most sacred duties under the Constitution. Judge Barrett is exceptionally qualified for the High Court. A graduate of Rhodes College and Notre Dame Law School, she clerked for the late Justice Antonin Scalia before pursuing a career as both a litigator and a professor. Following a bipartisan vote by the Senate in 2017, Barrett was confirmed as a Federal judge.
A dedicated wife and mother of seven, Judge Barrett would also bring a new and important perspective to the Supreme Court. Here are just a few examples of how: Judge Barrett would be the first mother of school-aged children to become a Supreme Court justice. She would also become only the fifth woman to serve. As the mother of a child with special needs, she fully understands the issues and concerns that confront our nation’s most vulnerable.
Judge Barrett would be the only current justice to have earned a law degree from a school other than Harvard or Yale—having graduated at the top of her class from Notre Dame Law School in Indiana. “Amy is more than a stellar scholar and judge; she is also a profoundly devoted mother,” President Trump said. “Her family is a core part of who Amy is.” Of Judge Barrett and her husband’s seven children, two were adopted from Haiti. Their youngest son, Benjamin, has Down syndrome—and boasts the title of “favorite sibling” from his brothers and sisters. Video here.

We need Matt Larkin for Attorney General. Matt will help stop out of control crime and will be an Attorney General focused on REAL solutions to keep our communities safe. Matt Larkin has the Seattle Police Officers Guild endorsement, an organization representing more than 1,300 Seattle police officers.
“Now, more than ever in our state, we need strong leaders who will ensure police have the resources we need to keep our communities safe. Matt Larkin will be unwavering in his commitment to restoring safety to our streets. On behalf of the men and women of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, we are honored to endorse him and support his efforts to uphold the rule of law in Washington.” - SPOG President Mike Solan. Vote Chris Leyba For Washington State Auditor. Chris is a felony crimes detective with the King County Sheriff’s Office where he performed investigations of financial fraud, various property and persons crimes, and other types of crimes against Washington State and its residents. What a perfect person to oversee the Wa State Employment Security Department who lost over 600 million taxpayer dollars sent to Nigerian Fraudsters.
Chris also worked at the Seattle Police Department as an officer and detective for 6 years. In this time, he spent 3 years as a detective of audits and inspections, directly responsible for conducting performance audits related to the Department’s consent decree with the U.S. Department of Justice. He obtained national certification as a law enforcement auditor in this assignment from the International Law Enforcement Auditor’s Association (ILEAA). In addition to his duties on the consent decree he performed internal audits of property, narcotics, money, and other records that were required of us by state and federal law. Some of these very audits are those required by the Washington State Auditor’s Office. More info here: leybaaaudits.com.
For Washington State Treasurer Re-elect Duane Davidson. In his first term Davidson managed to save taxpayers millions of dollars by carefully refinancing bonds when the timing was right. Davidson’s department regularly runs under budget, and this year he took it to its first ever Aaa credit rating from Moody’s Investment Services, the highest rating possible.
Davidson is a state executive who knows how to responsibly manage taxpayer money, he also fought time and again against the idea of creating a taxpayer funded state bank, which has been studied to death and found to be incredibly risky. Yet another study on the issue would have been funded this year to a tune of $250,000 by the Legislature if Gov. Jay Inslee had not vetoed the allocation. For more info see: Davidsonforwa.com.
In November vote for Maia Espinoza for Superintendent of Public Instruction! Students in Washington need our help and we must act now to innovate public education. Together, we can ensure our kids have a brighter future. We will empower families and teachers to reimagine an education system that puts students first. More see: MaiaForUs.com.
For 1st Congressional District Vote for Jeffery Beeler. Two years ago Jeffery won CD1 Whatcom County and received more than 46% of the vote in CD1 Skagit. For more information see: Beeler4congress.org.
PRESS RELEASE: Inslee Shutdown Will Triple Unemployment Insurance Taxes - Governor’s inaction bringing four years of higher taxes on small employers.
The state Employment Security Department last night released its latest Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund Forecast. September forecast confirms what the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and others in the state’s business community have been expecting, at least an $800 million unemployment insurance (UI) tax hike for 2021, with additional tax increases to follow.
“Small employers will see their unemployment taxes explode, increasing by more than triple in some cases, just as they’re trying to put people back to work,” said NFIB Washington State Director Patrick Connor. “Gov. Inslee’s ongoing lockdown of the economy is already responsible for the permanent closure of hundreds, if not thousands, of small businesses; his refusal to direct CARES Act dollars to shore up the unemployment insurance trust fund will add significantly to our state’s rising small business death toll.”
Next year’s tax leap will be due primarily to a nearly fivefold increase in the social tax component of UI taxes. The social tax is assessed on all employers, typically to compensate for those firms that have gone out of business and are no longer paying taxes into the system.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the costs of most COVID-related unemployment claims are being absorbed by the trust fund, rather than charged to specific employers. Consequently, the social tax will skyrocket from 0.25% to the maximum 1.22% of payroll on qualifying wages.
The social tax spike will be compounded by experience-rated increases that will further add to the UI tax burden on employers. A portion of the more than $2.5 billion in state unemployment insurance benefits paid out of the trust fund so far this year will be charged to specific employers. This is the experience-rated portion of UI taxes, and the tax rate varies by employer.
The 2021 unemployment tax hike is just the first in a multi-year forecast of substantially higher taxes on Washington employers.
The UI tax is estimated to triple in 2022, compared to 2020, due to low trust fund balances triggering a solvency tax, in addition to the social tax remaining at the maximum rate, plus additional increases caused by experience rating. It will remain at much the same level for 2023.
Of note, the projections show 2022 UI taxes will be twice what they were at the peak of the Great Recession – not because of market forces, but due exclusively to government-mandated shutdowns of the economy.
Washington business organizations have been calling on Gov. Jay Inslee to shore up the trust fund by using a portion of federal CARES Act dollars the state received, to avoid or reduce this massive tax hike. Inslee has so far declined. More info here.
For six months now, through constant Covid -19 Emergency Proclamations, Governor Inslee has abused the powers We the People gave him in the existing Emergency Powers Act. He has refused to revoke Proclamations once the emergency it was based on has passed. He has changed the goals of his Proclamations, ensuring they can continue indefinitely. He has favored his preferred businesses over those he dislikes through his definitions of essential business. He has refused to call the Legislature into session so that all representatives have a voice in the state’s emergency response. He has hired thousands of new state inspectors, and sent them to harass businesses, and fine them out of existence. He has forbidden church worship. He has forbidden protest against his Proclamations, yet he has allowed and encouraged other protest. In all this, he has acted arbitrarily, and brokered no advice or dissent. Government by executive Proclamation is contrary to American values. We must Restore the Balance of Power to We the People! Recommended reading: Covid is no longer an emergency.
Initiative 1114 limits emergency proclamations issued by the Governor to no longer than 14 days unless extended by a vote of the Legislature. The Legislature may not extend a proclamation through mere letters from leadership, but must vote. No individual extension may exceed 14 days. The Legislature may pass subsequent resolutions of extension, so that the whole of government must concur in the ongoing existence of an emergency proclamation. More info here. REMEMBER R-90 "CHECK REJECT" This November to STOP the Comprehensive Sex Ed Law (5395) From Taking Effect!
ESSB 5395 is a terrible Democrat imposed law that ignores the needs of both our kids and parents. Vote REJECT Ref-90 to repeal it. Overturn the K-12 comprehensive sex education mandate. Huge numbers of students are failing math, science, and English. Olympia should prioritize improving literacy and helping students graduate, NOT creating a new mandate!
Reject Referendum 90. Restore local control for parents and local school boards. The new CSE law means unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats, not local communities, will develop statewide sex education standards for students in all public schools.
Reject Referendum 90. Stop the early sexualization of our kids. Materials to meet the new state standards will include graphic sexual subject matter. These are decisions that should be left to parents and local communities.
Reject Referendum 90. A costly mandate at a time when school budgets are being cut. State and local budgets are facing massive deficits which threaten funding for basic programs.
Keep the Olympia activists out of our classrooms. Parents and elected local school boards should be the only people deciding what is taught in our classrooms. More info here and here.
Today the Michigan Supreme Court on struck down a 1945 law that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has been using to keep the state locked down since April. Whitmere has repeatedly extended a “state of emergency” for the past several months and pointed to a World War II-era law to do so, most recently lengthening it until October 27. But today, the basis for the ongoing lockdown was ruled unconstitutional.
The Michigan Supreme Court ruled against Governor Gretchen Whitmere's use of 1945 emergency powers law in #COVID19 pandemic, says 1945 law "is in violation of the Constitution of our state because it purports to delegate to the executive branch the legislative powers of state government..."
The governor had no right to extend the state of emergency over the Legislature’s objection. Michigan is now unlocked.
Yesterday Boeing announced it will move production of the 787 Dreamliner out of Everett and consolidate it in South Carolina (governed by a Republican) by mid-2021 taking at least 900 local employees (indirectly this one move will cost thousands of jobs). Over the past few years Boeing has steadily moved thousands of engineering and production jobs from the Puget Sound region to other parts of the country that are more business friendly.
Last night President Trump tweeted “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for Covid-19, We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately and we will get through this TOGETHER!” The tweet was a few hours after it was announced that White House Aide Hope Hicks also tested positive. Trump's commented about Hicks saying "She is a hard worker, and she wears masks a lot, a lot of masks."
Melania Trump also tweeted, "As too many Americans have done this year, @POTUS & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for Covid-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements." Of Note: Melania Trump wore a mask during the Presidential Debate.
This afternoon Trump was taken to Walter Reed National Military Hospital for precautionary reasons after reports that he had a slight fever and fatigue.
Trump is not the only major world leader known to have contracted the Covid. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson spent a week in the hospital, including three nights in intensive care. German Chancellor Angela Merkel self-isolated after a doctor who gave her a vaccination tested positive for the virus, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau worked from home after his wife tested positive. Also Donald Trump Jr's girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle tested positive in July. *
* Testing "positive" does not necessarily mean you are "sick" or even that you have any adverse symptoms of sickness. Humans always have, and always will carry many "germs" around. It is the job of the IMMUNE SYSTEM to regulate a healthy body.
Last week Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced he is ending limitations on businesses put in place because of the Coronavirus. And on Wednesday Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said the declining number of confirmed virus cases and hospitalizations are positive developments that call for lifting the statewide mask mandate.
Other governors may follow suit as Dr. Scott Atlas recently reported that Covid related hospitalizations are at their lowest levels since February (well under 2%).
DeSantis said that all businesses are free to operate at the level they are comfortable with. Any local government in Florida that wants to remain at a greater restriction would need to provide proof and a statement of financial impact. Even with those provisions, no local government is allowed to mandate businesses to operate at less than 50 percent. DeSantis's announcement comes as a major relief to residents and business owners in Florida who have remained throttled and unable to work and earn since the beginning of the pandemic in March.
"We will NEVER do any of these lockdowns again," Gov. DeSantis said during a Tuesday press conference. Saying "prolonged lockdowns cause more harm to the health of the people they're meant to protect."
"At best, what a lockdown will do is delay," DeSantis said, pointing to the devastating disease crisis in Peru. "The South American country had the strictest lockdowns in the world, preventing citizens from even leaving their homes, only to ultimately suffer from one of the highest mortality rates on the globe. "
OF NOTE: Skagit County Covid related hospitalizations are at 0.9% of beds occupied and there has not been a Covid related death since August 12th (total 22 deaths with Covid, 17 were in Nursing Homes).
A MUST READ: Open letter from medical doctors and health professionals to all Belgian authorities and all Belgian media (below is the beginning of the letter and excerpts).
We, Belgian doctors and health professionals, wish to express our serious concern about the evolution of the situation in the recent months surrounding the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. We call on politicians to be independently and critically informed in the decision-making process and in the compulsory implementation of corona-measures. We ask for an open debate, where all experts are represented without any form of censorship. After the initial panic surrounding Covid-19, the objective facts now show a completely different picture – there is no medical justification for any emergency policy anymore.
The current crisis management has become totally disproportionate and causes more damage than it does any good. We call for an end to all measures and ask for an immediate restoration of our normal democratic governance and legal structures and of all our civil liberties.
‘A cure must not be worse than the problem’ is a thesis that is more relevant than ever in the current situation. We note, however, that the collateral damage now being caused to the population will have a greater impact in the short and long term on all sections of the population than the number of people now being safeguarded from corona.
In our opinion, the current corona measures and the strict penalties for non-compliance with them are contrary to the values formulated by the Belgian Supreme Health Council, which, until recently, as the health authority, has always ensured quality medicine in our country: “Science – Expertise – Quality – Impartiality – Independence – Transparency”.
We believe that the policy has introduced mandatory measures that are not sufficiently scientifically based, unilaterally directed, and that there is not enough space in the media for an open debate in which different views and opinions are heard.
In 1948, the WHO defined health as follows: ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or other physical impairment’.
Health, therefore, is a broad concept that goes beyond the physical and also relates to the emotional and social well-being of the individual. Belgium also has a duty, from the point of view of subscribing to fundamental human rights, to include these human rights in its decision-making when it comes to measures taken in the context of public health. The current global measures taken to combat SARS-CoV-2 violate to a large extent this view of health and human rights.
At the beginning of the pandemic, the measures were understandable and widely supported, even if there were differences in implementation in the countries around us. The WHO originally predicted a pandemic that would claim 3.4% victims, in other words millions of deaths, and a highly contagious virus for which no treatment or vaccine was available. This would put unprecedented pressure on the intensive care units (ICUs) of our hospitals.
This led to a global alarm situation, never seen in the history of mankind: “flatten the curve” was represented by a lockdown that shut down the entire society and economy and quarantined healthy people. Social distancing became the new normal in anticipation of a rescue vaccine.
The Facts about Covid-19
Gradually, the alarm bell was sounded from many sources: the objective facts showed a completely different reality.
The course of covid-19 followed the course of a normal wave of infection similar to a flu season. As every year, we see a mix of flu viruses following the curve: first the rhinoviruses, then the influenza A and B viruses, followed by the coronaviruses. There is nothing different from what we normally see.
Wearing a mask is not without side effects. Oxygen deficiency (headache, nausea, fatigue, loss of concentration) occurs fairly quickly, an effect similar to altitude sickness. Every day we now see patients complaining of headaches, sinus problems, respiratory problems and hyperventilation due to wearing masks. In addition, the accumulated CO2 leads to a toxic acidification of the organism which affects our immunity. Some experts even warn of an increased transmission of the virus in case of inappropriate use of the mask.
Survey studies on influenza vaccinations show that in 10 years we have only succeeded three times in developing a vaccine with an efficiency rate of more than 50%. Vaccinating our elderly appears to be inefficient. Over 75 years of age, the efficacy is almost non-existent. Due to the continuous natural mutation of viruses, as we also see every year in the case of the influenza virus, a vaccine is at most a temporary solution, which requires new vaccines each time afterwards. An untested vaccine, which is implemented by emergency procedure and for which the manufacturers have already obtained legal immunity from possible harm, raises serious questions. We do not wish to use our patients as guinea pigs. On a global scale, 700 000 cases of damage or death are expected as a result of the vaccine. Entire letter here.
To fully appreciate the arguments made in the above open letter, see the latest charts from Sweden, a country of almost 11 million people which eschewed lockdowns altogether and made only modest suggestions relative to social distancing and restrictions. Sweden continues to see new Covid cases but has enjoyed virtually zero deaths for the past two months. On the basis of Covid deaths per 1 million population, Sweden (580) has fared slightly better than the US to date (615). Source
More recommend reading here by a Swedish doctor who describes a typical, virtually-mask-free day in Stockholm. Excerpt:
When I sit in the tube on the way to and from work, it is packed with people. Maybe one in a hundred people is choosing to wear a face mask in public. In Stockholm, life is largely back to normal. If you look at the front pages of the tabloids, on many days there isn’t a single mention of covid anywhere. As I write this (19th September 2020) the front pages of the two main tabloids have big spreads about arthritis and pensions. Apparently arthritis and pensions are currently more exciting than covid-19 in Sweden.
It is interesting to note the above reports correlate very much with what we were told by Dr. Dan Erickson who made world headlines during his April 22nd press conference with Dr. Artin Massihi (both experts in micro-biology) when they discussed how California, U.S. and other nations's Covid numbers were similar to the flu. They both also warned us against government mandates that forced an unnecessary and destructive policy of quarantining the healthy saying "When you lock down a 21 trillion dollar economy it causes public heath issues, our suicide hotlines are up 600%, spousal abuse, different areas of alcoholism are all on the rise. These are public health problems from financial lockdowns. We can open the schools and open businesses." April video here.
BLM Activist Who Drove Her Car Through Trump Supporters in Yorba Linda is Arrested and Charged with Attempted Murder. According to the Orange County Journal, on Sunday the 40-year-old driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder. At least two people had major injuries and were transported to a hospital but were expected to survive.
CORRUPT: Hunter Biden Received $3.5 Million From Moscow Mayor’s Wife, Made Payments to Human Trafficking Suspects.
A new report from the United States Senate’s Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs (HSGAC) and the Committee on Finance details a series of highly suspicious financial dealings of Hunter Biden. In connections to his “duties” with Burisma, Hunter Biden received a $3.5 million wire transfer from Elena Baturina, the wife of the former mayor of Moscow. That is a fact. The only thing that is unclear is why the payment was made.
Perhaps most shockingly, the committee details payments made by the younger Biden to nationals of Russia or other Eastern European countries, who were described as associates of an “Eastern European prostitution or human trafficking ring.”Biden had previously impregnated a stripper and sought to avoid paying child support in the American civil justice system.
Joe Biden has consistently sought to deflect questions about his son’s highly unusual conduct in the business world of Ukraine and Russia, but this report raises questions that are too pressing to ignore. More here.
On Tuesday, the New York City Board of Elections announced a plan to print and mail new absentee ballots to nearly 100,000 voters who received erroneous envelopes in their absentee ballot packages. The decision comes after an unknown number of Brooklyn voters received absentee ballots with the wrong name and address printed on the return envelope.
New Project Veritas Video: Voter Fraud in Ilhan Omar’s district in Minnesota. A Somali whistleblower working in the sheriff’s office helped O’Keefe record evidence of a cash-for-votes scheme in Minnesota
The "ballot broker” boasts about keeping hundreds of absentee ballots in his car trunk. He brags about them being filled in by people other than the voters. Often, money changes hands. Witnesses tie the rampant fraud to the campaign chairman of a prominent member of the radical “squad” in the U.S. House. Loose election laws allow people to come from out of state, vote, and then leave again.
A concerted effort is being made to use the coronavirus as an excuse to transform how we vote in elections by shifting to mail-in or absentee ballots. We are told that democracy will be improved if we allow ballots to be handled outside the scrutiny of election officials — and that there is almost no voter fraud, so what’s to worry about?
This activity is really happening in America in 2020, and it’s been captured on video by filmmaker James O’Keefe. Some of it could be coming to swing states near you if something isn’t done. Video here.
OF NOTE: At a Sunday press conference at the White House President Trump commented on recent known voter fraud in the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Carolina, New Jersey, Florida and Pennsylvania. Trump said the voter fraud is rampant and one of the biggest problems our country faces.
One of the more interesting comments Joe Biden made at Tuesday's Presidential debate was saying "Atifa is an idea." But at yesterday's Presidential Press Conference all the Democrat operative media wanted to discuss was to misrepresent Trump's tax returns and his view of white supremacy. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany berated the press for their lack of interest in accurately covering violence perpetrated by leftist organization Antifa.
"[President Trump] wants to prosecute the KKK as domestic terrorists and make lynching a federal crime. Again all of that lost on the media as they misreport, take out of context, ignore the verbatim words of this President when he denounced white supremacy yesterday, when he denounced it at the debate, when he's denounced it more than any president in modern history," McEnany said. "Something else lost upon the media is the absolute turning of a blind eye to Antifa. Carrying the water for Democrats, the media apparently agrees with Jerry Nadler that Antifa violence is a myth. In August Senate hearings, Democrats refused to condemn Antifa. Again, no journalistic curiosity here despite the fact that Andy Ngo, who is a victim of Antifa, said Democrats have mastered, Democrats, he should add the media too, have masted the art of making its violence appear innocuous."
"Their violence isn't innocuous. Antifa is not an idea. Andy Ngo can tell you that because he was beaten by a group of protestors, Antifa protestors, suffering brain bleed. Another man can tell you this who, in 2019, the victim, his name is Adam Kelly, suffered from a concussion and got 25 staples in his head, but still silence from Democrats, ignoring this group," she continued. "In fact, as we just saw recently, there was a Trump supporter who was killed by a '100 percent Antifa man,' that is how he described himself. And again, no reporting here, but I guess I did the job of the media here by getting this information myself...ideas do not target police officers. Ideas do not burn down buildings. Ideas do not kill innocent Americans. Organizations do and Democrats should condemn this shameful group in the same way President Trump continues to condemn white supremacy."
On Saturday President Donald Trump spoke in front of several thousand people at a campaign rally in Middletown, Pennsylvania, shortly after he announced that he was nominating Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court. In between nominating a 3rd supreme court judge candidate, taking part in the Presidential debate and other obligations, he has also had time to speak at large campaign rallies in Newport, Virginia and Duluth, Minnesota.
A group of four Australian law professors have nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, the third nomination he’s received in recent weeks. The nomination is based on the Trump Doctrine, or the president’s approach to foreign policy.
“What he has done with the Trump Doctrine is that he has decided he would no longer have America involved in endless wars, wars which achieve nothing but the killing of thousands of young Americans and enormous debts imposed on America,” Australian law professor David Flint told Sky News Australia on Sunday. “He’s reducing America’s tendency to get involved in any and every war.” Flint and a group of law professors in Australia are the third to nominate Trump for the prize. “What Trump did is he went ahead and negotiated against all advice, but he did it with common sense,” Flint said. “He negotiated directly with the Arab states concerned and Israel and brought them together.” Magnus Jacobsson, a member of the Swedish Parliament, nominated Trump for the prize for his work in forging a historic peace deal between Serbia and Kosovo, and Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, nominated Trump for the Israel-UAE-Bahrain deal. “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde said of Trump’s accomplishments. The winner of the 2020 peace prize is expected to be announced on Oct. 9. More here.
