A Memorial Day boat parade held in honor of former President Donald Trump drew an unprecedented number of attendees in Jupiter, Florida, with pleasure craft adorned with Trump merchandise stretching as far as the eye can see. The parade was acknowledged by Trump in an official statement.
Video footage from Jupiter, Florida shows thousands of boats parading in unison, decks full of cheering Trump supporters. Though the event has received little media coverage, the turnout in support of Trump and fallen U.S. servicemen is clearly staggering.
President Trump acknowledged the turnout at the boat parade in an official statement on Monday, stating, “Wow! I hear they have thousands and thousands of boats parading in Jupiter, despite the fact that they tried to cancel us. Everyone is having an incredible time. On this day, we especially appreciate everyone who served and fought for our great Country. I love you all!”
Though Donald Trump has been banned from major social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter since January, his wife and former First Lady Melania Trump was able to post the message, “Today we honor courageous fallen heroes who fought for our freedom! #Memorial Day” to the platform on Monday.
The Trump’s Memorial Day itinerary stands in stark contrast to that of several high-ranking Republican elected officials, including Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Graham spent the weekend in Israel posing with embattled Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu:
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) posed with embattled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Memorial Day, holding up a sign emblazoned with the slogan “More For Israel.” Graham was criticized by advocates for U.S. serviceman who noted that Graham spent much more time time praising Israel than honoring slain U.S. veterans on Memorial Day.
“No one has done more for Israel than you, Sen. @LindseyGrahamSC, a stalwart champion of our alliance and we have no better friend. I want to thank you for everything you’ve been doing over the years on our defenses, our security, on Iran. You’ve been a tremendous friend and ally,” a tweet from the Israeli PM account that was retweeted by Graham boasted.
A photo accompanying the tweet showed a beaming Graham proudly holding up a placard that read “MORE FOR ISRAEL” standing next to Netanyahu, who is currently the subject of a corruption investigation in his home country.
