March 29, 2021 SCRP WA State Legislative Update
The SRCP IS OPPOSED to these four bills during House &/or Senate hearings. The below bills are now in the APPROPRIATIONS hearing set for Tuesday, March 30th @ 1:30 pm.

5151 Foster care and child care licensing by the department of children, youth, & families (LICENSING GRANDMA+ RELATIVES)! We don't want financial strings attached without full disclosure on what you have to do if you take the money such as background checks, home visitations, regulations.
5052 Creation of Health EQUITY Zones (The health EQUITY zones will remove local control, empower the unelected State Dept of Health, and provide services based on equity).
5052 Funds $ for the Dept of Health to recommend systems and policy changes. Let the doctors and hospitals be the ones in charge of improving health, not a state agency.
5227 Requiring diversity, EQUITY, inclusion, and antiracism TRAINING and assessments at institutions of higher education. (More RACISM TRAINING for all staff and students). Spends MILLIONS to fund public Universities and Colleges to create a plan, develop assessments, collect and publish data, and provide training on DIVERSITY and EQUITY.
5188 Creation of the Washington State Public Bank. ($600 million of OUR $ to Nigerians and they want to open a WA State Bank, oversight by politicians?) The state will be creating a new agency, with new rule-making, new codes and there is not a fiscal price tag attached yet. How can they be creating a new system without proper planning. Other bills want to raise our taxes to pay for plans that have "blank checks" to cover projects like this bill!
