The 2020 election season has been one for the ages. If government's response to Covid completely influencing the 2020 elections, and months of violent riots was not enough, now we have the passing of 87 y.o. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, having lost her battle to cancer.

President Trump described Ginsberg warmly as an "amazing woman who led an amazing life." The president also has a constitutional duty to fill her vacancy. Trump says his choice to replace her will be a woman and will be made tomorrow from the white house. U.S. Court of Appeals Circuit Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett is the front runner.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has vowed to hold a full vote on the president's nominee. "Americans reelected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary. Once again, we will keep our promise, President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate," says McConnell.

This is a no-brainer for Trump. Since the founding of our country there have been 29 times that a vacancy opened up for the Supreme Court during an election year or prior to an inauguration. Every time the sitting President made the nomination to fill the vacancy, including Presidents Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson. Not surprisingly Democrats do not approve of current reality. Ted Cruz explains this to George Stephanopoulos.

With the circus show that Democrats put us through during the confirmation hearing for Justice Kavanaugh still fresh in everybody's minds it should be no surprise that now Dems are throwing Temper Tantrums with anyone who does not agree with their narrative. I.e. Senate leader Chuck Shumer is saying if Trump attempts to fill the vacancy "nothing is off the table" and many others on the left are threatening to commit more violence. Other Democrat leaders such as Hilary Clinton are saying to "not concede the election under ANY circumstances," Eric Holder and AOC are saying "to use every procedure possible, "to radicalize" and for Democrats to "Pack the Supreme Court", "Create Unrest in the Streets," etc., etc., etc...

And if the past several months have taught us anything it's that leftist sure know how to throw tantrums and commit organized violence.

On Tuesday the Skagit County Planning Commission took the unusual step of censuring one of their own members – Mark Lundsten.  Mr. Lundsten, also a Candidate for Skagit Commissioner District #1, wrote a letter in opposition to action taken by his commissioner colleagues, without disclosing to any members of the commission. It was clear to the planning commission members that he was trying to undermine the planning commission. The Skagit TV21 video of the Planning Commission meeting can be found here. The discussion about Mr. Lundsten’s conduct begins at 8:55 with Lundsten’s defense of his behavior. It finishes at the 1:40:00 point with the 7 – 2 vote to censure of Mr. Lundsten.

This isn’t the first time Mr. Lundsten has attempted to go around the planning commission without notifying them. He did the same when the planning commission opposed the P-12 amendment in 2018 (P-12 was designed to further restrict property owners in south Fidalgo Island).

For six months now, through constant Covid -19 Emergency Proclamations, Governor Inslee has abused the powers We the People gave him in the existing Emergency Powers Act. He has refused to revoke Proclamations once the emergency it was based on has passed. He has changed the goals of his Proclamations, ensuring they can continue indefinitely. He has favored his preferred businesses over those he dislikes through his definitions of essential business. He has refused to call the Legislature into session so that all representatives have a voice in the state’s emergency response. He has hired thousands of new state inspectors, and sent them to harass businesses, and fine them out of existence. He has forbidden church worship. He has forbidden protest against his Proclamations, yet he has allowed and encouraged other protest. In all this, he has acted arbitrarily, and brokered no advice or dissent. Government by executive Proclamation is contrary to American values. We must Restore the Balance of Power to We the People! Recommended reading: Covid is no longer an emergency

Initiative 1114 limits emergency proclamations issued by the Governor to no longer than 14 days unless extended by a vote of the Legislature. The Legislature may not extend a proclamation through mere letters from leadership, but must vote. No individual extension may exceed fourteen days. The Legislature may pass subsequent resolutions of extension, so that the whole of government must concur in the ongoing existence of an emergency proclamation. More info here. REMEMBER "CHECK REJECT" This November When You See R-90 to STOP the Comprehensive Sex Ed Law (5395) From Taking Effect!

ESSB 5395 is a terrible Democrat imposed law that ignores the needs of both our kids and parents. Vote REJECT Ref-90 to repeal it. Reject Referendum 90. Overturn the K-12 comprehensive sex education mandate. Huge numbers of students are failing math, science, and English. Olympia should prioritize improving literacy and helping students graduate, not creating a new mandate.

Reject Referendum 90. Restore local control for parents and local school boards. The new CSE law means unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats, not local communities, will develop statewide sex education standards for students in all public schools.

Reject Referendum 90. Stop the early sexualization of our kids. Materials to meet the new state standards will include graphic sexual subject matter. These are decisions that should be left to parents and local communities.

Reject Referendum 90. A costly mandate at a time when school budgets are being cut. State and local budgets are facing massive deficits which threaten funding for basic programs.

Keep the Olympia activists out of our classrooms. Parents and elected local school boards should be the only people deciding what is taught in our classrooms. More info here and here.

AFTER YOU REJECT R-90 in November, next is the Common Sense Sex Education Initiative 1109. I-1109 goes one step further to completely reset the laws and requires local school districts to create Opt - In programs for grades 5 - 12 that are transparent, so developmentally appropriate materials can be put on TV without any disclaimers. I-1109 removes state control over all sexual health programs and place it into the hands of local school boards and families, like all the other academic subjects.

Common Sense Sex Education Initiative 1109 will Completely Remove All State Mandates, Standards and and Curriculum, and Make Sex Education a local issue between Local School Boards and Parents. I-1109 will need 320,000 signatures by the end of December to qualify for the Washington State Legislature to take up the matter in January 2021. I-1109 petitions are available in the SCRP office. After the city of Seattle just fired 100 police officers, this week it was learned that the city of Seattle is paying $12,500 a month to former Pimp Andre Taylor, because he can communicate with gang members, pimps and prostitutes better than anyone else. Mayor Jenny Durkin is backing the contract saying that Taylor's expertise is invaluable to deescalation and alternatives to policing. More here.

Dozens of Climate Change Protesters on Monday showed up to Senator Lindsey Graham’s (Chair of the Judiciary Committee) residence around 6 a.m. Monday morning, where they banged drums, blared air horns and demanded that he oppose a Supreme Court confirmation vote before Election Day. “We can’t sleep so neither should Lindsey,” read protester signs.

An effort bolstered by support from Former Democrat Presidential candidate billionaire Michael Bloomberg has raised over $20 million to pay off fines for Florida felons, enabling them to vote in the upcoming presidential election.

A federal appellate court ruled that in addition to serving their sentences, Florida felons must pay all fines, restitution and legal fees before they can regain their right to vote. Under Amendment 4, which Florida voters passed overwhelmingly in 2018, to be able to vote, felons have to complete their sentences and require felons to pay all their required fines and fees. Now Bloomberg says he wants to target about 32,000 Blacks and Hispanics to pays off their fines with the hope they will vote Democrat. Bloomberg also has pledged $100 million to help Joe Biden win Florida. At issue is if this is illegal against Florida law and considered bribery. More here.

This week the U.S. Department of Justice identified the following three jurisdictions that have permitted violence and destruction of property to persist and have refused to undertake reasonable measures to counteract criminal activities: New York City; Portland, Oregon; and Seattle, Washington.

“When state and local leaders impede their own law enforcement officers and agencies from doing their jobs, it endangers innocent citizens who deserve to be protected, including those who are trying to peacefully assemble and protest,” said Attorney General William P. Barr.  “We cannot allow federal tax dollars to be wasted when the safety of the citizenry hangs in the balance. It is my hope that the cities identified by the Department of Justice will reverse course and become serious about performing the basic function of government and start protecting their own citizens.”

Criteria for evaluating each city is below:

Whether a jurisdiction forbids the police force from intervening to restore order amid widespread or sustained violence or destruction. Whether a jurisdiction has withdrawn law enforcement protection from a geographical area or structure that law enforcement officers are lawfully entitled to access but have been officially prevented from accessing or permitted to access.

Whether a jurisdiction disempowers or defunds police departments.

Whether a jurisdiction unreasonably refuses to accept offers of law enforcement assistance from the Federal Government.

Any other related factors the Attorney General deems appropriate.

It’s clear from the announcement that other cities will soon be added to the list; most likely Chicago and Minneapolis, among others. More here.

The latest CDC data is now telling us that the overwhelming majority of those who have tested positive for the coronavirus should really have been found negative after all, and potentially 90 percent of those who have tested positive for Covid -19 have such insignificant amounts of the virus present in their bodies that such individuals do not need to isolate nor are they candidates for contact tracing. Leading public health experts are now concerned that overtesting is responsible for misdiagnosing a huge number of people with harmless amounts of the virus in their systems. More here.

Even the New York Times says most of the people that have tested positive are not likely to be contagious.

If the coronavirus has made one thing clear, it's that so-called "scientists" and "experts" are wrong all the time. They can't accurately forecast a virus, they tell us different things about the effectiveness of a face mask, they insist the virus can't spread at Left wing protests, and there's a myriad of other examples too long to document showing us the Leftist "experts" are really just making it all up as they go along.

A MUST READ: Open letter from medical doctors and health professionals to all Belgian authorities and all Belgian media.

We, Belgian doctors and health professionals, wish to express our serious concern about the evolution of the situation in the recent months surrounding the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. We call on politicians to be independently and critically informed in the decision-making process and in the compulsory implementation of corona-measures. We ask for an open debate, where all experts are represented without any form of censorship. After the initial panic surrounding covid-19, the objective facts now show a completely different picture – there is no medical justification for any emergency policy anymore.

The current crisis management has become totally disproportionate and causes more damage than it does any good. We call for an end to all measures and ask for an immediate restoration of our normal democratic governance and legal structures and of all our civil liberties.

‘A cure must not be worse than the problem’ is a thesis that is more relevant than ever in the current situation. We note, however, that the collateral damage now being caused to the population will have a greater impact in the short and long term on all sections of the population than the number of people now being safeguarded from corona.

In our opinion, the current corona measures and the strict penalties for non-compliance with them are contrary to the values formulated by the Belgian Supreme Health Council, which, until recently, as the health authority, has always ensured quality medicine in our country: “Science – Expertise – Quality – Impartiality – Independence – Transparency”.

We believe that the policy has introduced mandatory measures that are not sufficiently scientifically based, unilaterally directed, and that there is not enough space in the media for an open debate in which different views and opinions are heard.

In 1948, the WHO defined health as follows: ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or other physical impairment’.

Health, therefore, is a broad concept that goes beyond the physical and also relates to the emotional and social well-being of the individual. Belgium also has a duty, from the point of view of subscribing to fundamental human rights, to include these human rights in its decision-making when it comes to measures taken in the context of public health. The current global measures taken to combat SARS-CoV-2 violate to a large extent this view of health and human rights.

Wearing a mask is not without side effects. Oxygen deficiency (headache, nausea, fatigue, loss of concentration) occurs fairly quickly, an effect similar to altitude sickness. Every day we now see patients complaining of headaches, sinus problems, respiratory problems and hyperventilation due to wearing masks. In addition, the accumulated CO2 leads to a toxic acidification of the organism which affects our immunity. Some experts even warn of an increased transmission of the virus in case of inappropriate use of the mask.

Survey studies on influenza vaccinations show that in 10 years we have only succeeded three times in developing a vaccine with an efficiency rate of more than 50%. Vaccinating our elderly appears to be inefficient. Over 75 years of age, the efficacy is almost non-existent. Due to the continuous natural mutation of viruses, as we also see every year in the case of the influenza virus, a vaccine is at most a temporary solution, which requires new vaccines each time afterwards. An untested vaccine, which is implemented by emergency procedure and for which the manufacturers have already obtained legal immunity from possible harm, raises serious questions. We do not wish to use our patients as guinea pigs. On a global scale, 700 000 cases of damage or death are expected as a result of the vaccine. If 95% of people experience Covid-19 virtually symptom-free, the risk of exposure to an untested vaccine is irresponsible. Entire letter here.

To fully appreciate the arguments made in the above open letter, see the latest charts from Sweden, a country of almost 11 million people which eschewed lockdowns altogether and made only modest suggestions relative to social distancing and restrictions. Sweden continues to see new Covid cases but has enjoyed virtually zero deaths for the past two months. On the basis of Covid deaths per 1 million population, Sweden (580) has fared slightly better than the US to date (615). Source

More recommend reading here by a Swedish doctor who describes a typical, virtually-mask-free day in Stockholm. Excerpt:

When I sit in the tube on the way to and from work, it is packed with people. Maybe one in a hundred people is choosing to wear a face mask in public. In Stockholm, life is largely back to normal. If you look at the front pages of the tabloids, on many days there isn’t a single mention of covid anywhere. As I write this (19th September 2020) the front pages of the two main tabloids have big spreads about arthritis and pensions. Apparently arthritis and pensions are currently more exciting than covid-19 in Sweden.

Jefferson County, Colorado: Last week thousands of people gathered at the Bandimer Speedway that hosted a ‘peaceful protest’ to “Stop the COVID Chaos." The demonstration was in support of two lawsuits, one filed by Bandimere Speedway against Jefferson County for its health regulations on businesses. The second was filed by Colorado House minority leader Representative Patrick Neville against Governor Jared Polis’s emergency mask mandate. Jefferson County Public Health is taking Bandimere Speedway to court for the rally, saying it violated public health orders.

“The crux of our lawsuit is that the governor is violating the separation of powers,” said Neville during an interview at the rally. “People are fed up, they want to get back to work they want to get the economy back up and that is what most of the people are here for.”

Floriida Governor Ron DeSantis announced new legislation to stop violent assemblies and protect law enforcement. The proposed legislation, the “Combating Violence, Disorder and Looting and Law Enforcement Protection Act,” creates new criminal offenses and increases penalties for those who target law enforcement and participate in violent or disorderly assemblies.

“Our right to peacefully assemble is one of our most cherished as Americans, but throughout the country we’ve seen that right being taken advantage of by professional agitators, bent on sowing disorder and causing mayhem in our cities,” said Governor DeSantis. “I will not allow this kind of violence to occur here in Florida. The legislation announced today will not only combat rioting and looting, but also protect the men and women in law enforcement that wake up every day to keep us safe. I look forward to working with the Florida Legislature next session to sign this proposal into law.”

“Peaceful protesting is a constitutional right, but looting and disorderly rioting are not,” said Senate President-Designate Wilton Simpson. “We will continue to stand with our brave law enforcement officers as they protect and serve. This bill is a way to ensure that all Floridians can live in a safe and secure environment. I commend Governor DeSantis for his commitment to public safety.”

The Senate Homeland Security and Finance Committees on Wednesday released an interim report on their months long joint investigation into Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings.

The report (here) stated that Hunter Biden “formed significant and consistent financial relationships” with the founder of Burisma, Mykola Zlochevsky, and that his and his business partner Devon Archer’s firms “made millions of dollars from that association” while his father was vice president.

Also records from the U.S. Treasury Department, “show potential criminal activity relating to transactions among and between Hunter Biden, his family, and his associates with Ukrainian, Russian, Kazakh and Chinese nationals.” More here.

King County Superior Judge Jim Rogers ruled that a recall effort against Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant can move forward. The recall charge, filed by petitioner Ernest Lou, alleged Sawant had "used her position in violation of the law or has recklessly undermined the safety of others" including giving protesters access to City Hall, leading a march to Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan's house and encouraging protesters to occupy the area near the Seattle Police Department's Precinct as part of the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.

The judge allowed four of the six charges alleged in the petition to go forward, saying in his order that the petitioner had proved "knowledge of facts indicating that the Councilmember intended to commit an unlawful act."

The coronavirus pandemic likely “could have been prevented” if the Chinese government acted more transparently and the World Health Organization wasn’t “complicit in the spread and normalization” of their propaganda during the outbreak’s early days, an audit from the House Foreign Affairs Committee reportedly says.

The 96-page document authored by Republicans in the committee -- which the New York Post says it exclusively obtained Monday before its planned release -- also reportedly calls for the resignation of WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom over his “detrimental impact on the COVID-19 response.”

“It is beyond doubt that the Chinese Communist Party actively engaged in a cover-up designed to obfuscate data, hide relevant public health information, and suppress doctors and journalists who attempted to warn the world,” it said, according to the New York Post. More here.
